![]() The song has a catchy chorus I'll give it that but it's so cheesy and formulaic and bland, idk if being kinda catchy in the chorus is enough to save it honestly. The raggae sound doesn't work well, the instruments sound way too digitised and people saying these guys don't even play instruments might actually have a point here. these guys are making soulless music now. One More Night starts and immediately you can tell. So here they make a straight up pop album, what could go wrong? and that is completely okay because maroon 5 early on were always at their best when they were leaning towards their pop sensibilities imo and hell Moves Like Jagger isn't bad, I love that song. They sold out, their third album wasn't selling well so they got together with some outside songwriters and made their electropop song Moves Like Jagger to hope for another hit, it worked and it was clear, maroon 5 were a pop band now. Maroon 5 sold out, no arguments and no denying in that. but what happens when a band gives up all creativity, their unique sound and personality for the sake of having more hits? Well you see this isn't the case of just a band changing their sound. ![]() It's almost always just people whining about bands changing their sounds and evolving so at this point calling someone a sell out is the most lazy and boring complaint. Selling out, a term we all hate to hear at this point.
